When first listening to Skeletal Remain's new album "Fragments of the Ageless" you could very easily be mistaken for listening to classic Cannibal Corpse, but "Fragments Of The Ageless" is very much Skeletal Remain's and its F*CKING BRILLIANT. The album is brutal and aggressive, with a spot of anarchy, it also showcases guitars that would shred a carcass in several minutes. The album begins with "relentless Appetite", a thunderous opening that feels like a battering ram smashing your ribs. Next is "Cybernetic Harvest", a track with fantastic riffage, and with the demonic Growl of a Hell Dog from singer/guitarist Chris Monroy it's what the veins of death metal feed us. Apart from Chris Monroy vocals, there are parts throughout the record that feel Slayerish, but that's not a bad thing, and it shows the musicianship of band members Mike De La O (guitars), Brian Rush (bass) and Pierce Williams (drums). If you want a album to bring a Cardiac Arrest to your neighbours, and scare the shit out of the local assholes, we'll put this on your player, you won't be disappointed.
